Pop Junk’s Top 5 Christmas Movies of right now for all time maybe.

Happy Holidays everyone! Welcome to a Christmas themed movie list to end the Christmas countdown to the morning where I sleep in because I’m an adult and that’s what I want.

So these are my 5 favorite movies to watch over the Christmas season.  Now before you go all “It’s a wonderful life” on me, my generation didn’t grow up watching that shit so I’m not going to gush all over it;  No these are the movies that I watched on Christmas and make me feel all Christmas-y…In  a top 5 fashion.

#5: Die Hard

If Die Hard were a person it would have a set of balls that hung below the knee.  This movie rules even today and not only is it usually on cable during Christmas, it actually does take place on Christmas and has many Christmas references.

I’m not going to waste my time waxing poetic on how good Die Hard is, we’ve all seen it and Die Hard on regular TV is a Christmas family tradition and should stay that way until the end of time.  Yippie Ki-ya Mister Falcon!

#4: Home Alone

Home Alone is a 21 year old movie: Let that shit sink in.  Ok well as corny and over the top and stupid and rediculous this piece of crap is…I love it.  I loved it as a kid and I still love it today.  When you rewatch it on Christmas you realize how quotable this movie is.

See you know the line! Imagine being the chick in the picture, try carrying that shit for the rest of your life.  Anywho, say what you will but Home Alone rules and it’s the classic story of child neglect that everyone here in American can really get behind.

#3: Rocky 4

Rocky 4 is the most over the top and ridiculous of the Rocky sequels but you just can’t deny how amazing a movie it is.  Amazing meaning holy shit this movie is a 47 minute music video of two pumped up dudes training to John Cafferty and the Beaver Brown Band and then another music video of said pumped up dudes knocking the shit out of each other.  If you say you hate this movie because it’s stupid then you missed the point.  That’s why I love it!  Also it’s Christmas related because it takes place on Christmas and because like Die Hard it’s always on around Christmas…and the other 364 days of the year.

#2: Scrooged

‘Member a time when Billy Murry didn’t make weepy Oscar bait, or weird unfunny Wes Anderson movies.  (Rushmore was ok, just get over it, those movies suck) Yeah it’s a magical time called the 1980’s and in 1988 he made an updated version of Charles Dickens A Christmas Carol. Bill Murry is funny as hell in this flick, it’s obviously Christmas themed and it’s also pretty heavy.  This movie actually scared the bejesus outta me as a kid when he’s burning in the casket, it’s pretty disturbing.  Despite that, this is a solid flick and required viewing over the Christmas season.

#1: National Lampoon’s  Christmas Vacation.

Come on look at that poster…Yule Crack Up! ok seriously this movie is a must and unlike the nostalgia of a flick like Home Alone, this movie is still laugh out loud funny.  The cast is great, the jokes hold up and it’s all around a very entertaining movie.  What makes this number one is the great quote able moments that I will display to you as a closing to this article.  Watching Community recently has made me glad that Chevy Chase gets to show off his comedic timing again because he was great back in the day as displayed in this flick and there are just so many priceless moments.   I don’t care which it is…Merry Christmas or Happy Holidays, What ever it is you do,  just have fun and be safe.
